Here in the San Francisco Bay Area, there are a number of large, undeveloped tracts of land held for the public trust by foundations, non-profit groups and other organizations. One such group is the Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District which supervises roughly 25 preserves in some especially beautiful country to the south of San Francisco overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Below is a series of videos, and photos I shot while running along some of the trails within the preserves. Take a look at them and you will see what makes my runs so special.
The San Francisco track crew pounding out Two-pole Drag. The circuit starts in Huddart Park and crosses over into the Phleger Estate. Minor injuries are common out here so be careful! On this day it was me who took a bite. View »
Running Stinkfoot in El Corte de Madera Creek. In the video I'm heading down Methuselah to the creek crossing. It then transitions to a phat vista high up on Manzanita which faces west towards the San Mateo County coastline. View »
This is more of a sights and sounds video I shot while running Highlands in La Honda Creek. Behold a massive old-growth redwood, and take a gander at some extensive storm damage in El Corte de Madera Creek. View »
One of my favorite runs lies just over the Golden Gate Bridge in the Marin Headlands. Svelte brings you high above Sausalito and Mill Valley with sweeping views that stretch all the way to Half Moon Bay, Point Reyes, Oakland, and San Francisco. You're gonna love the week-kneed and dizzying heights along Coastal Trail. This is Northern California coastline at it's best! View »
