While the wild west days of lumbering and moonshining are gone, you can still run the old roads and trails the teamsters and bullwhackers once used to haul their loads out of the redwood forests. During this bygone era, Whiskey Hill in Woodside, CA really lived up to its name offering strong local brews to loggers and travelers while "taking tea" during their commute up and over the Santa Cruz Mountains. You won't be served any shine during this run but we will provide you with some cold Headlands Brew at the finish and all the necessary favorites among the trail running community.
The BayTrailrunners Whiskey Hill Redwood Run is a competitive 10K, Half, Full Marathon and 50K trail race open to all levels of runners. It will be run through the lush redwood forests of Huddart Park in Woodside, CA, is mostly non-technical with moderate climbs. Experts can use this race to measure their progress while first time racers looking for a new challenge will find this to be an excellent starting point to their trail racing adventures. At the finish, hang around and join us for cold beverages and snacks.
Race Day Information
Parking: Huddart Park reqiures a $6 per vehicle parking fee. Carpool if you can. We will have an informed and upbeat volunteer point you in the right direction when you arrive.
Sign-In & Bib Pick-Up: 8:00AM - 8:45AM at the starting line.

All participants will receive a BayTrailrunners Whiskey Hill Redwood Run Tech T-Shirt. To guarantee your shirt size, you must register by Sunday, September 9th.
1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishers in all distances will each be given gift cards from A Runner's Mind.

Time Limit: 50K and Marathon runners must reach their return pass through King's Mountain Aid Station by 4:00PM. If you don't, we will drive you to the finish.
Timing: We will be using the timing software that Utrasignup has generously supplied to us.
Marking: The course will be marked with bright ribbon with clear and easy to read signage. 10K follows blue, Half follows red, Full follows yellow, 50K follows green. Details will also be explained at the pre-race briefing.
Course measurements: Our data has been collected using Google Earth and cutting edge GPS devices. The detailed information gathered and displayed is provided by 3rd-parties and BayTrailrunners LLC cannot guarantee the accuracy of this information. Provided for reference only.
Rules: No dogs, bikes or strollers. Stay on marked trails. Yield to park personnel and other visitors. Do not litter. Thank the volunteers!
Aid Stations: Aid will be provided at the start and finish. Expect fruit, carbs, sweets, gels, electrolytes and water. Half Marathon and Marathon runners will have a full aid station at the Kings Mountain road crossing. Marathon and 50K runners will also have a full aid station setup at the top of Wunderlich Park. We strongly recommend that all runners carry some form of hydration pack or water bottle throughout the race.
Restrooms: There are restrooms located at the start near Werder Shelter. You will also find them at the intersection of Bay Leaf and Crystal Spring Trails.
Refunds: Entry fees are non-refundable and non-transferable to future BayTrailrunners events. BayTrailrunners however, will be happy to send you a 75% or 50% entry coupon if you let us know at least 2 weeks or 48 hours before the event, respectively. If you fail to show up to the race without prior notice, you forfeit all credits and reimbursements. Please email us so we know in advance what your plans are.
