The run starts from the Werder Shelter in Huddart Park and continues along the Crystal Springs Trail. Crystal Springs is a polished redwood tree covered path with a soft and cushy feel under foot. The next turn will be a sharp left up the Dean Trail, a blend of shady single and double track that drifts up the hill. Along Dean there will be a road crossing and numerous other trail intersections but remain on Dean until it reaches Crystal Springs again. Stay to the right and traverse the many switchbacks down Crystal Springs and take a left on Chapparal Trail. Enter Chapparal and follow it out to the junction with Richards Road. Take Richards to the intersection with Bay Leaf, take a right and head to the finish!
